Elektradrive formed in 1983 with vocalist Elio Maugeri, guitarist Simone Falovo, bassist Stefano Turolla , keyboard player Eugenio Manassero and drummer Alex Jurio.
The band debuted with the 1984 single "Let It Survive" on Smoko Records. Then they lent a couple tracks to some compilation albums, on HM Eruption "Lord Of The Rings" and on Metallo Italia "Winner" (first promo video).
1986 found the band releasing their first album "Over The Space" on Discotto Records. An Italian tour followed.
The band released their sophmore effort "Due" in 1989 on Minotauro Records. Dave Reynolds of Kerrang magazine rated Due with 5 K's, a first time for an Italian band. Again the band tours Italy which included a show with Manowar. The band flyes over America to play some live shows , and get many approbations from managers, producers, local musicians, after the night at Roxy Theater in L.A.
The third LP, titled "Big City", would see the light in 1993 on Dracma Records. Again the band tours Italy.
In Feb. 1995, after 12 years and no line-up changes, singer Elio Maugeri leaves the band and soon Elektradrive's life as a band staggers.
From 1995 to 2000 the Elektradrive undergo some changes affecting training and a demo tape, "Scheme"
that attracts the attention of the famous guitarist Ronnie Montrose.
In 2004 vocalist Elio Maugeri back to writing new songs with guitarist Simone Falovo beginning the
reunion of the group in its lineup, with the exception of only keyboardist Eugene Manassero.
In 2009 they released the album "Living 4" ( on Valery Records) , which gets good reviews both on paper and magazine
on major webzines.
The new test record marks a change in the sound of the group, now set aside the AOR sound,
modern rock sounds influenced by bands like King's X.
On 6 June the same year the band is called to play in a festival in Bologna in the company of bands like
Bonfire, Silent Rage and Mad Max.
