Vanadium Were among the first HM bands to appear in
Italy and are considered the most representative of the Italian heavy metal scene. They were a band of
average success both in Italy and internationally.

Vanadium formed in Milan in 1980, based Tessarin Stefano (guitar), with Roger Zanolini (keyboards), Dominic Pranter (bass) Lio Mascheroni (drums) and Pino Scotto . Musically they are very influenced by hard rock groups like Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. There are many difficulties to emerge in a time when heavy metal music had not yet fertile ground in Italy, but the career of Vanadium is studded with good success, even abroad.
Their discography includes the first single (with We Want Live Rock 'n' Roll - Durium, 1981) and eight albums, one live On Streets of Danger regarded as the first live album of an Italian metal band, recorded in France. Their debut album is Metal Rock of 1982, which manages to collect a sales success. Game Over (1984), reached the figure of 54,000 copies sold only in Italy
Followed by other records like Born to Fight (1986) and Corruption of Innocence (1987). Following the bankruptcy of their label, the Vanadium Seventheaven affect their last album and broke up in 1990.
They reformed in 1995, returning to the market with an album totally sung in italan: Nel cuore del Caos. The album, however, collected a mediocre commercial success and, after a long tour, the band broke up again and forever.
A Race With The Devil is the second full length by Vanadium, released in 1983 by Durium Records
